Mandal Tours - Cultural tourism in Mongolia

Mandal Tours is dedicated to providing sustainable and enlightening cultural tourism opportunities in Mongolia.

Targeted to the inquiring traveller, our exclusive tours offer an in-depth look into Mongolia's society and culture, interpreted by leading Mongolian and international experts. Each tour focuses on a specific theme—such as the heritage of Central Asia's nomadic civilizations, or Mongolia's sacred sites and traditions—and includes travel to both well-known sites and areas that are typically neglected by tourists.

Our "study tour" model is distinguished by its focus on cross-cultural encounters. Tourists do not simply travel through scenic cultural landscapes, but interact with them, through workshops and mediated encounters with local nomads, monks, artists, scholars and the like. Each such encounter is planned with the active participation of the local communities and individuals involved, with whom tour revenues are shared.

A majority of proceeds from tours organized by Mandal remain in Mongolia, with net profits being dedicated to local projects to restore and promote the cultural heritage.

Why Travel with Mandal Tours?

Our goal is to present Mongolia in a far greater depth and with more professional expertise than any other tour operator. And we are firmly committed to developing a sustainable, ethical form of tourism that will support Mongolia's development for generations to come.

In commemoration of the legacy and teachings of
His Holiness Dulduit Danzanravzhaa
Fifth Wrathful Noble Xutagt of the Great Gobi (1803-1856)

I did not overbearingly sophize
Nor preach with pride and arrogance
But having found a sense in this world
Spoke the truth of my dear heart.
